A short drive out of Bury will take you to the Historic and Picturesque village of Lavenham. Believed to host the largest preserved collection of tudor buildings in the country. Here you can visit independent boutiques and galleries or simply relax with a traditional Suffolk cream tea.
Long Melford sits approximately 10 miles south of Bury. Here you can pay a visit to Kentwell Hall and explore Tudor life, or browse the numerous antique shops and boutiques on offer.

30 miles outside Bury sits the celebrated University City of Cambridge. Pay a visit to Kings College, or explore the various art galleries, cinemas, and theatres. If you fancy a picturesque shopping day then Cambridge is the place to go. Afterwards you can relax on a Punt and enjoy the calm of the River Camb (Spring/Summer months only).
Bury is also conveniently situated for Ely, the historic city of Norwich, and is within a short drive of West Stow where you can visit one of the few remaining Anglo-Saxon villages.
